I decided not to make you automatically listen to music in my blog anymore. I know how that can sometimes be annoying. If you want it, just press play at the bottom. I may or may not switch to a Christmas playlist soonish, so you are thus forewarned... :)

Aattelin että käynee rasittavaksi aina kuunnella pimputusmusiikkia blogissa, varsinkin nyt kun availen luukkuja päivittäin. Soitin on yhä käytettävissä ja soitteleepi tunnelmamusiikkia kunhan ensin painatta playtä. Kohta sieltä saattaapi tulla tunnelmaa täydentävää joulumusiikkia, ja sitä nyt en varsinkaan soisi ahdistukseksi heille, jotka eivät joulumusiikista piittaa. ;)

Progress Report - No piccies to show

So yeah, no pictures to show this time, but I just wanted to let you know this fall's first batch of minipottery is now in the kiln. I'll get to see them finished on Wednesday (so if they look OK, you'll get pictures then). Also, my dollhouse is coming along, slowly but surely. I've cut the walls and they've got holes for widows and doors. I'm going to post pictures once the windows and maybe doors are in and there's cladding.

I'm also working on the Christmas Calendar Swap for this year. Almost all the slots are full now, but if anyone's still interested, let me know. I only ship to Finland, though, so there's probably no point in me writing about it in English... If you don't know Finnish and you've been wondering what those swap posts have been about, well, that was it. I'm doing swap stuff.

Also, the reason why I haven't been redecorating or doing stuff to the current dollhouse (cabinet apartment as I call it) is that I'm going to have to move again by the end of the year. I can't bring myself go through the trouble just to put it all back into a box so soon. I'll get back to that once I've moved again.

Eijole ny kuvia näyttää, mutta keskiviikoksi pitäisi tulla minikeramiikkaa uunista. Nukketalon rakennus on edennyt siihen pisteeseen, että seinät on paloina ja niissä on reiät ikkunoille ja oville. Otan kuvia kun olen asentanut ikkunat ja vuorannut seinät Biltema-tikuilla. Joulukalenterijutukkeet ovat työnalla. Voin ottaa vielä pari luukkua jos jotakuta kiinnostaa. Tän kuun loppuun asti olis aikaa ilmoitella ainakin. Syy miksi blogissa ei ole ollut pitkiin aikoihin kuvia nukketalon (vitriiniasunnon) sisältä on että joudun kohta muuttamaan uudestaan eikä siksi ole tehnyt mieli tehdä mitään asian eteen. Palaan siihen muuton jälkeen.

Heippa Blogspot/Blogger-immeiset!

Ette arvaa mikä homma oli siirtää vanhat jorinat LiveJournalista tänne. Export/import -toiminto ei meinannut toimia sitten millään. Piti oikeen sukeltaa pythonskriptien ihmeelliseen maailmaan näillä aivoilla. ;) Nyt on kuitenkin kaikki myös tällä puolen ja toivottavasti muistan päivitellä tätä (ehkä jopa etupäässä, koska kaikki tutut ovat jo LJn jättäneet). :)

Seurailkaa siis ihmeessä, jos teitä kiinnostavat miniatyyrit, aasialaiset pallonivelnuket ja käsityöt/askartelu. \o/ 

Tavalliseen tuttuun tapaan blogaan useammalla kielellä (yleensä suomi/englanti) sen mukaan miltä sattuu kulloinkin tuntumaan, mutta jos jokin jää epäselväksi huikatkaa!

Progress Report - Eyes from Ebay, Ceramics on Hold

I sold Pope's eyes a little while back and I've now ordered him a new pair. They're quite different from the last. It will be interesting to see how they fit. I haven't done a lot of doll-related stuff lately, but I'm slowly working on some miniature pottery. Unfortunately the school I've been going to is currently off for a week, so my projects are further delayed. Apparently it also takes quite a bit of time to apply glazing onto tiny tiny vases, bottles and cups... Maybe I'll they'll finally be ready for the kiln next Monday. 

Progress Report - Walls and floors

So, finally the walls and floors are done, the glue is still drying though. I'm hoping to make some lanterns tonight and maybe a coffee grinder too. It's already pretty late so I don't think I'll get much done, but I'm running out of time so I'll have to squeeze in what I can. Tomorrow's relatively free so I'll try to get the rest done then. Wall hangings and plants and small items like that take surprisingly lot of time. 
On Wednesday there's the December fair at the market place, so I'm going to head out to see what's there, but I'll have to try to use that evening to start planning and shooting the stories. There's just Thursday and Friday to get all that done, edit the pictures too, because there's going to be a big Christmas fair on Saturday and Sunday and I want to go see it. It won't take the whole day, but I expect it's going to be tiring... I want to be done on Monday, but the very latest date everything just has to be done is on the 13th. I'd really like the Monday though...  

Heh, evidently my writing is still pretty crappy from having participated in Nano again this year. It was very very tiring and it'll take time to recover. I have no idea how I'll be able to get everything written properly what with my head such a mush. Ooogh, crappy sentences...! D:

Joulukalenteritilannepäivitys

Vain ihka ensimmäinen luukku puuttuu ja kaikki ovat saaneet miun lähettämät luukut, joten alkaa olla selvää pässinlihaa tämä vaihto. Kohta alkaa pakettien avaaminen...!

Well, that was anticlimactic...

Meant to print wallpapers this week. Ordered some ink cartridges for the printer and they arrived promptly... but yay, the printer is broken. Even after countless of cartridge cleanups (both via setup and manually), it still prints stripey poo. So, no wallpapers in sight. And I had the flu (or common cold, whatever it was), so I've been out of commission for almost two weeks. I do wonder if I'm ever getting the house done... D:

Packing them tightly and giving them a little shake at the back of my bike.

Next Tuesday I'll be heading to Merkkari with a couple of dolls with me to show the kids. (Merkkari is a local junior high school where I'm currently interning as an assistant language teacher.) I'm thinking I'll try to haul Khan over since he usually wins over the people who have any inclination of liking dolls. I still haven't decided if I'm taking Seba because two big lads may be a bit too much weight to carry comfortably. (Especially when I only have one proper carrier bag for the big dolls.) So I'll probably have to make due with Vincent, one of the MSDs and the tinies Pope and Ernest. I don't think very many people read this blog, so I probably won't be getting much of a response... But if any of you have suggestions, please suggest. There's a list of my dolls at the profile page.

News

I just spent several hours fixing Roy's travel gear. He got a new wig (one with a much much smaller ponytail, sidenote: I can now make wigs that have short hair and cost me approximately 50 cents, if that), new vest/jacket thing (he currently wears no shirt, I got bored of the old thing), fixed shorts and a hat that my mom sent (which was actually what inspired me to do the outfit). I've decided not to take pictures because I'm tired and me and Roy are off to Helsinki in a couple of days. Friday morning to be exact. I'll be taking plenty of pictures then, so you'll be seeing plenty the new outfit when I get back.

Those of you, who want to feign interest, it looks a bit like this, except nothing like it really:

And Roy's outfit is of course better. I can say that because I'm biassed (I've got double the ass).

Future acquisitions

I don't recall believing that I would merely buy one doll and that would be it, so here come the future plans! :D
First of all, I found Rin. The head (Gomidoll IGON with half-open eyes) isn't on sale until May and it'll cost me roughly 150 euros to get it home.

But there's more. Since my flatmate is seriously considering buying a doll, and this doll will be modelled after a certain character, I'm obliged to buy my half of that particular RPG (as if I minded XD). And? I already found him (thanks to her)! Excuse me while I make unintelligible squee-noises curled up in a corner. *squees until she's all squeed out*
The doll in question is an Angelregion Ren (click for picture), the first and probably only 44cm doll that looks unavoidably cute, but still so much like sensei, it's eerie. You'll have to stretch your imaginations a bit though, but he'll have glasses and the brown basic BF eyes that came with Roy. Later on, he'll probably have a more yellowish wig, unless I can make that one look more sensei-like.

I also found eyes for Rin. They're the new red eyes from souldoll that look more realistic than all the other red eyes I've seen. I very much like this colour. I would've wanted to order a carrier bag from souldoll while I'm at it, but the minibags are of a HIDEOUS pink colour. -_- So there goes that. I would've bought a full-sized black one (since Rin will be SD), but of course they are sold out. (Which reminds me that Angelregion had a lovely bag on sale, but it was expensive, no make that really expensive!) *sigh* (this coming from me, the same person thinking that Ren is really cheap since it's only $364 *cough*)

Anyway, here's a list (since I like lists):

• Souldoll P116 eyes for Rin.


• Gomidoll IGON with half-open eyes in May.


• Angelregion Basic kit Ren (boy), as soon as I can afford it.


• Rin's body, which I feel is lethally expensive and will have to wait a bit longer.
  

All in all, this will cost me over 1000 euros. Whoohoo! \o/
How much of that is on my bank account, you ask? Around 150 euros...
(not to mention that I'm in debt for several thousands of euros as we speak.)
I've applied for a couple of summer jobs, but I really really really need a job. XD
Glad we got that cleared up.

Update

So, the doll was shipped from Korea today. It will arrive in a couple of days. I also received Roy's eyes today, thanks woodoo! :)
(That was quick, since she sent them yesterday. \o/)

In other news, I told my dad about the doll and what I could tell, he didn't take it well. Which was a bit of a disappointment, since I was rather expecting (or hoping) that he would understand. But such misjudgment on my part is to be expected. I haven't really kept in touch with my dad as well as I probably ought to have, so there are bound to be moments like this. He didn't take it especially badly either, so I should try to be happy. Just that I can kiss goodbye the fun of giving him updates on the subject (which is close to my heart and which I hoped to be able to share). That's all.

My grandma sent a letter and called me the doll's mother. <3 XD
And my mom wants to make clothes for Roy. ^_______^

Roy also got pants. They aren't done yet though, because I'm not entirely sure about the fit and measurements, but I'll finish them along with everything else when he arrives. I found a cute dress I've been meaning to modify for myself (for cosplay stuff probably), but since I doubt that'll ever happen, I decided to use it as material for the doll clothes. There's plenty of white see-through fabric that'll work really well for the cloak thing I was planning to make. That and a lot of elastic cotton, which looks pleasingly lot like cotton, but stretches. Perfect. :D

Anyway, there's a lot I need to do when he arrives, before I can show him off, so I need to plan as much as I can beforehand. Hopefully it won't be too time-consuming (adjusting the clothes, making the wig and taking him apart to switch eyes and maybe look into wiring...) and I'll get to take pictures before the wee-hours of the day. ^^;
There will of course be the traditional arrival pictures, but I'll have to figure out a twist of some sort to make it interesting, or I'll keep them for documenting purposes only. ;D
